Organisers
Marta Capiluppi, Department of Computer Science, University of Verona, Italy
Agnieszka Wykowska, Luleå University of Technology, Sweden, Technical University Munich, Germany
This session aims at bringing together researchers from various fields: robotics, cognitive neuroscience, psychology and industry to discuss novel approaches in robot-assisted therapy and diagnosis for special needs. The highlight will be put on interdisciplinary methods that allow for novel solutions tailored to the needs of the end users. Moreover, the two sides of human robot interaction, the human side and the robot side, will be explored, with the aim of integrating the approaches in the different fields involved. Starting from the current methods for therapy and diagnosis of different diseases and current technology of integrating cognition in robots, this
session wants to start a collaborative field, in which such methods and technologies have a common aim. The workshop will also discuss possible applications of robot assisted therapy and diagnosis, both for cognitive and for physical diseases.
